The 30th Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament
March 10-11, 2017
The 30th Annual Alumni Basketball tournament will take place on March 10, and March 11, 2017. "THE 30th!" - Amazing considering the relative size of Independence High School. A tribute to all those who have taken part in the past and/or continue the tradition. He didn't know it at the time, but a great idea originally proposed by Tom Chodzin is about to become 30 years old!
Brackets should be available toward the end of February, but game times are Friday 3/10, 5:30pm - 8:30pm at the Middle School, on the half hour. The High School games are 6:30pm - 9:30pm also on the half hour. All Saturday games will be at the High School beginning with a ladies game at 10:00am. The semi-finals for the junior bracket will start at 11:30am, with the championship games for both the junior & senior brackets at 2:30pm & 3:30pm.
There is a $20 donation to participate. All proceeds go the Independence Athletic Boosters Club, to benefit current athletic activities. Over the thirty years the tournament has raised around $50,000 for IHS athletics!
